Meet our Seminarians / David L. Zick

I am blessed to have been raised by a faithful catholic family that truly nurtured my vocation. My Dad would always make sure we went to mass and prayed often, and planted within me a deep love for God. As I entered into high school I became lukewarm in my faith and began to hang out with the wrong crowd, but all the while my parents were patient with me, living out their faith by example. It wouldn’t be until four years later, right after high school graduation that the Holy Spirit would take over.

I experienced a deep inner conversion after looking at how happy and fulfilled my Parents were in their faith and how incomplete I felt living for the world. I became enflamed with love for God and His church. A short time later I began to have passing thoughts of becoming a priest, but I shrugged them off, telling myself I was not worthy of such a calling. But as time went on the thought of priesthood became much more persistent and after a lot of prayer and reflection I decided to meet with Fr.. Dailey. I have since been accepted by the diocese as a seminarian and have never felt so much peace and joy. Fulfillment comes in doing God’s will and all we have to do is say yes to Him. Ask God what he wants for you and accept his invitation. Put all your trust in Jesus and In union with Our Lady say “let it be done to me according to thy word.”
